How Our Pricing Works

Starting prices. Every number on this page is the lowest a job of that kind normally costs. Bigger or heavier doors, special parts, rusted or seized hardware and extra work raise it. We'd rather show you a real starting point than a number that only applies to a perfect door.

Written price first. The technician looks at the door, tells you what's wrong and writes the price down before starting. Nothing is added after.

Service call. $45, and only if you decide not to go ahead. Do the repair, and the service call is free.

Sundays. Emergency calls only, and they add $45. Saturday we're closed.

03

What Raises the Price

  • Door weight and size. A 16-foot insulated or wood door needs bigger springs and stronger hardware than a 9-foot steel door.
  • Two problems at once. A broken spring that also threw a cable off the drum, or a car bump that bent the track and a section.
  • Rust and age. Seized bolts, rusted bottom brackets and worn bearings on older doors take more parts and time.
  • Special parts. Discontinued opener boards, odd spring sizes and custom doors may need to be ordered.
  • Sunday emergency. Adds $45.

How to Keep Repair Costs Down

  • Replace both springs at once on a two-spring door — one visit instead of two.
  • Fix small things while we're there: worn rollers, a dry bearing, a torn seal.
  • Have a tune-up every year or two (from $135) so springs and cables are caught before they fail.
  • Don't run the opener against a heavy or stuck door — it turns a spring repair into a spring and opener repair.
  • Use the coupons.

Comparing quotes? Ask whether the price includes both springs, balancing, lubrication and a warranty. Ours does.

Garage Door Price Questions

Straight answers with our starting prices. Last updated October 2026.

What is the average cost of garage door repair on Long Island?

With us, most single-part repairs land between $79 and about $489. Springs are the biggest common repair (from $489 for both), cables start at $205, and adjustments such as sensors or travel limits start under $100. Large jobs like a new door or opener are priced separately.

Why does garage door repair cost vary so much?

Because doors vary. A heavy insulated double door needs bigger springs than a light single door, an off-track door may have bent track, and an old opener may need a part that costs nearly as much as a new opener. That is why we post starting prices and give the exact price in writing on site.

Is there a fee if I decide not to do the repair?

Only the $45 service call. It covers the trip and the diagnosis, and it is waived whenever we do the repair.

Do you charge more on weekends?

We are closed Saturday. Sunday emergency calls add $45 to the normal price. Monday through Friday there is no extra charge.

Do you offer discounts?

Yes: 15% off spring replacement, $75 off a new opener, $300 off a new garage door, and 15% off for seniors and military. One coupon per job — mention it when you call.

How do I pay?

You pay when the work is done and you've seen the door working. Ask about payment methods when you call.

Garage door trouble? Call us.

One of us answers. Most parts ride on the truck, so most jobs are finished in one visit.
